April Lockhart
April Lockhart (born July 4 in 1995) started her journey in music at the age of 7 when she took guitar and piano lessons. When she was in seventh grade April started taking guitar and piano classes. The lessons sparked her passion in songwriting. The singer spent much of her the time of 14 making songs and practicing the piano. She started writing songs with her dad at home in NY and LA shortly after. The month also saw her include different topics related to some of her peers who are dealing with such things as peer pressure disabilities and even teenage suicide as depicted in the song"Take" my Hand. Lockhart is an influencer in the beauty and lifestyle industry with an ever-growing following. She collaborates with the renowned brand Ilia together, as well as being an expert in the field of lifestyle. As a woman born with no left hand, she is an important part of her. It's however not the entire tale. Lockhart doesn't deny her disability on Instagram, but she doesn't make it the focus of her story. What message is it sending? The message? We each contain multitudes, that our identity and physical self aren't as appear. Lockhart talks through video from Nashville. "I don't want it to define my life. I don't want to only be recognized as an expert in disabilities. My everyday life isn't directly affected by disability. I go about my regular day-to-day life and discover my own solutions to issues. It's a big aspect of my existence, so it is important to discuss it. Lockhart is a huge inspiration to her fellow women in the area of acceptance of oneself. However, she admits to going through phases of being uncomfortable with her body and feeling uncomfortable in certain clothes that exposed her arms. She wears whatever she wants and proudly posts pictures of herself wearing the clothes she wears on social platforms. The journey itself is what I'm not sure if you ever arrive she says of self-love. It's a long journey. I'm sure that you never get there. I believe having friends around you who really are aware of you and know your heart is really important since they'll be those who will remind you what you concerned about?
