While I had one baby on me and others with me in the cradle worked 12 hours a day cleaning floors and tear off wallpaper. Ha! It was all starting to take shape, however we weren't anywhere near finished. To complete this task, I was prepared to spend a considerable amount of money and time shopping for my dream home. In the market in town, I rented a small area and then sold a few pieces. I could outgrow my space because I owned many more pieces than I could use. Then I began hosting open houses in my home that saw more than 1 000 visitors came through on one weekend, and purchase whatever they saw on the first floor. Growing Days was founded in my house. As my business flourished and so did our small family. I was balancing the demands of having to start a new business and be a mommy too. Growing Days fit perfectly. Nora came into our lives in 2013 to be our fourth baby. The direction of my business was great, but I needed to rest for a while. I decided to step back to spend time in my home with my children. It was exactly what I was looking for at the moment. However after a few months off the phone started to ring. People contacted me asking for help with the interior design and renovations of their home. A majority of them visited my home during my furniture open houses. After that, I gradually took on more clients, according to my own pace. Then I was able to have many clients, and had an enterprise of renovations to homes. You would probably have amused me if you had said that this was going to be the subject of the DIY Network tv series. It's funny to think back to it.
